It's not that very easy. Because choices of profession have a much bigger scale then financial solutions. So basically once get that job choice, everything else comes in place with less financial choices. That because that one formula people use today, "Makes more spend more". Shop till you drop.

Example, my uncle saved most of his income. Previously brought a house, paid it off doing weekly mortage payments. Sold his house with a huge profit, then brought a condo in cash all with just a warehouse paying job. Why because he had less choices to move up through a profession due to his lack of education and more choices in financial strategies. Saw that his intelligences in financial health would help him see new open doors.

Many people with profession just fellow financial strategies that they believe are best for them. My uncle was very wise with his finance. Facts wasn't a big spender, used his hard paid income for rewards then unnecessary needs. That's what I can say 😊

If they did, no one would ever engage in those things. Teach a generation that extortion is wrong, but it's okay if these specific corporations do it, and you'll have three HQ buildings reduced to burning rubble with the heads of their boards on pikes out front as a warning to the next bastard. Teach a generation to live within its means, and half of the economy will collapse. You'll see ad execs on the roadside holding signs that say "will emotionally manipulate you and lie about the fundamental nature of reality for food".

... yeah, I'm all for it.

Certainly. The financial world is such a big part in all people’s lives, young and old. Teaching and discussing it, is such an integral part for the stability of the economy of that particular country, and the welfare of its people/citizens/civilians.

I feel like this is common sense, but people need to hear it!

One of my friends back in high school (senior year) had to ASK my government teacher, questions about how to do her taxes…

I was thinking- if she’s ASKING, in our class free time… we should probably… have an actual CLASS on this matter.

It’s sad that my friend could not learn that from her parent (s) neither. 🤷‍♀️

People ought to know it.

One other example was the nurse at my eye doctor’s appointment. She told me her age and said this year- recently- she just learned something NEW about her taxes and she had to ask for help also. (She was mid to late 30’s).

It definitely needs to be taught and learned. 🙌😄

Itd be nice. It was a requirement to graduate at my high school.

I remember my teacher gave us this long ass lecture on “big hat little cattle”.

I was afraid of credit cards at first (I should’ve been anyways because I didn’t have money) and a close friend loved them even though she didn’t have any money.
Now I have them, and she doesn’t because they won’t approve her.

We took the same class but I think having parents educate you on them makes a better impact. My mom told me to stick to my debit card and her mom encouraged her to take out loans and credit cards.

someone needs to. it should be introduced, but the problem is... they are run by "public"... which now means "Federal government". That organization DOES NOT WANT YOUR KIDS EDUCATED. They want them enslaved in their system.

So you are wasting your time and energy unless you are stripping power out of schools for school choice, or telling kids to do a book study on dave ramsey or benjamin gramham. I bet most kids never heard of him... I didn't.

i think one of the reasons why American education system is so poor is because your students are undisciplined, disrespectful, rowdy and don't care about their education.

I still remember my days in school where kids would show teachers absolutely no respect, socialize when the teacher tells them to be quiet and listen. why do you think you can't keep your teachers? there is a mass exodus of teachers leaving the profession.

you can't learn if you can't stop chatting with your friends. don't constantly just blame it on finances. finances have nothing to do with it.

It wouldn’t hurt to have a class on credit, credit cards, credit ratings, banking, mortgages, insurance, apartment rental contracts and a world of other things which all have to have reading, math and critical thinking involved. Call it Life 101.

parents/families should do a better job of teaching children about debt and money management skills. it's also possible for adult with average or better credit to allow children to piggy back off it during their teenage years. so by the time they range the age were they will need it they already have a few years of positive credit history. because the modern public school system was desired to turn free thinking children into obedient worker drones for the cooperate machine. even modern college is desired to but young adults into debt while they try for a degree that often may not even be worth the paper it's printed on. since many people often don't get a job in the field they got a college degree for so it's wasted. meanwhile many blue collar jobs have almost no requirements for an entry position. while often offering on the job training and can have modest pay rates within a few years.

Absolutely, but that would eliminate the system's best way of controlling people through debt slavery so it won't happen. The best rule of thumb is to avoid debt like the plague and save money. There are ways to use debt wisely, but you have got to be educated on it first.

I can recall the first time I read Rich Dad Poor dad by Robert Kiyosaki and was all but told I couldn't read it because it's was against the rules but with no explanation of why
It was about that time I turned my back on conventional schooling and entered fully into the school of life
The liberal indoctrination system known as state education wants everyone in it's clutches financially under the thumb for the vast majority of their lives

They do. It's just math. You can't teach someone to feel like something is important, though, or we'd do that for everything. And not for their benefit but for ours. We'd teach them "it's important to do everything your elders tell you to do" for example.

Absolutely!! I got the bare basics of finance in high school and still don't have a clue how most of it works and, I'm not alone in this! A very good friend of mine whose 12 years older than me said the same thing last summer!
It's a dirty shame that kids today are being taught way more about sexual proclivities than the stuff they REALLY need to know to get by in life!!

Parents do. Schools are doing exactly what they are supposed to. Giving just enough education as needed to work a boring 9-5 factory job to be useful drones for corporations. Think about how classrooms are laid out to get you used to sitting in rows and competing for As for validation.

I've had to learn all life skills on my own

The only teacher that put in some effort to teach about life was my 7th grade math teacher.

He made us do a project in which we were given a random career, salary and then we had to factor in groceries, a car and taxes to determine what we could afford. Other than that, no life skills were taught to me throughout school

Yes they do, when I attended school in the 70's we had bank accounts in school with each class taking turns at being the bank, we had deposit books, cheque books, and statement of account every 6 months, we learned how to use those accounts, how to budget etc.

Yes I agree the schools need to assist in teaching our children how to run a budget and finances in a home. They need to know what debit is and credit. Balancing their budget and setting money aside. For repairs along with necessities.

Yes, I do. The kids taking advanced math classes may not need that instruction but the others do. People are generally terrible at calculating the true cost of a loan or an auto lease.

They do in economics class. At least here. Also we had the made up marriage. We had a budget, find a place to live, and was told how many kids and ages. It was a full project. We had to break even or have a profit of some sort.
