They aren't being serious about it because there is nothing to be serious about. The media frenzy and political frenzy are all show and only serve to scare kids. The frenzy does more harm than good.
The media and political frenzy distort reality. People have a hard time grasping very large numbers. There are 130,000 schools in the US, and that doesn't even count colleges. There are 75 million students in the US. NYC alone has almost a million students.
The best way to grasp very large numbers is to compare it to something else. In reality schools are one of the very safest places a child can be. It's safer than their own home. It's safer than going outside to play. It's much safer than riding in a car.
The odds of a child getting killed in a school shooting are literally less than the odds of them getting hit by lightning. We use the phrase "getting hit by lighting" to mean the odds of something happening are so extraordinarily small that it's not even worth thinking about.
If we had the same kind of media frenzy about things that are far more dangerous than school shootings, the kids would be too scared to go outside.
It's easy to say "kids got killed and we need to do something about it". I love children and don't want to see them get killed any more than anyone else. But I know that the world is full of all kinds of risks and you can't hide from the world. Children can't hide from the world and neither can adults. You can't live life in an isolated bubble, constantly afraid the boogie man will get you.
As terrible as some things are, there are WAY more things that are much worse that don't get the same kind of media frenzy. It's blown completely out of perspective.
So why isn't the media freaking out because children go outside where they might get hit by lightning? To rephrase the question: Why do you think they aren't being serious about children getting hit by lightning? Maybe you could post pictures of children who were hit by lighting to get an emotional response. Then maybe people will take it more seriously.
Israel, under daily threat of anti-Semitic terrorism from most of its neighbors, has demonstrated that by arming school teachers they can prevent nearly all school shootings. Given the vastly greater threat the average Israeli school is operating under, this is even more telling about the efficacy of hardening soft targets.
Thanks for MHO
Instead of going off the deep end. There needs to be a way to address the primary problem. That is, the false flags by powerful people that want to gut the second amendment.
If it doesn't make sense, look a reason. Throughout history, powerful people have created false flags to achieve their goals. Mass shootings by a so called deranged person are not happening in Switzerland nor are they happening in the Mideast and in both places guns are readily available. Furthermore, these mass shooting have on only recently started happening in the USA, and that only after powerful people started pushing to eliminate the second amendment. It doesn’t take brilliant people to make the association.
what do you mean by false flags?
Lol, smart people have already proposed actions to stop school shootings.
But the problem is the politicians don't care about expert advice. See the pandemic response.
They care about re-election and bribery money. Which means at most pay lip service and cry on TV, and at least oppose any prudent and expert-recommended gun control on the basis of "MuH sEkUnD aMeNdMuNT".

I think people should be allowed to own rifles but semi automatic rifles are extremely extra to have. It’s interesting how the US has cars that are banned but they don’t have guns like those banned. I believe we have a right to bear arms, but there needs to be a limit, just like there’s certain cars you can’t buy in the US.
I think riffles/any other big guns shouldn’t be allowed because we’ve lost that privilege due to it being so easily open to anyone pretty much and it being a ego/cool thing for many mass shooters. I unfortunately think we should have the right to own certain guns for self defense since this world is crazy.
I know but literally all school shooters have gone for bigger guns wether it’s semi automatic or not. they want to feel that power for what ever reason i haven't heard one use a pistol lol
Most of them use automatic guns because they don’t have to reload as often. It’s not about size, it’s about type. They don’t use pistols because pistols need to constantly be reloaded. It doesn’t matter anyways. There’s literally no reason for semi automatic guns. People use rifles for hunting - but again I still think semi automatics are unnecessary even for hunting
I promise you how easily these school shooters walk in wether the students are at lunch running away or if he/she gets into a class they would be able to murder them clearly even if they chose a pistol legally i think it’s about size & ego but oh well.
i know each gun is different. i say it’s both that’s why we needs better rules on guns & need to ban certain ones.
The Virginia Tech shooter used two PISTOLS.
we’ll now i have heard one that has used a PISTOL thanks. but i did research and it’s many riffles buddy.
mainly* but thanks for your comment lol..
There are people trying to incite change, but unfortunately the majority of people in power profit so much from the weapons industry that they don’t want to give up that income. They don’t give a damn about the general public, and since they already have the money to fund their campaigns and buy votes, it’s difficult for others to get in positions of power similar.
I see what you’re saying but it still doesn’t change the fact that they haven’t made smart changes in schools but focus on other things.
Public schools are funded by the government. If the government is run by people that don’t care about safety and the lives of the general public, why would they want to “waste” money on making them safer?
right basically what it’s seeming like. It makes me think they’re in a cult or something lol.
It’s a cult with money, that’s all it is
It's beyond me. It's inconceivable were allowing kids to be shut up in schools without doing whatever can be done to try and prevent this. Doing nothing is unacceptable. Arming the teachers would be one of the options. We already know the police can't be counted on.
So basically your idea is to strip people of their liberties and lock children in prison. Sound pretty CCP to me. What's the next step in your plan, ethnic cleansing?
are u bored and trying to argue with me? 😂😂 a safe environment due to random harm that’s been happening & prison are two different places. what are the next school shooter?
Firstly you never were the best anything.
As for school shootings, it's an American problem as only Americans can really think like that.
Because one side wants to focus on taking guns away and violate 2nd amendment. The other wants to deal with the issue that makes these asshats.
we should keep them unfortunately but & yeah there are sides but fixing these schools up should’ve been more important than arguing for years
Democrats don't care. They want more mass shootings because they want to disarm citizens.
@Vegasrunner Tell me what these alleged bills sought. Would any of them prevented Buffalo or Uvalde? Guessing they all involved disarming lawful American citizens.
Oh they are serious about it.
Problem is, majority does not want the obvious solution.
Because the left would rather exploit a tragedy for their own political aims of dearming the population
They don’t want their toys taken away.
Because they have an agenda.
