I saw video on youtube showing PE at an American school in the 60s and it was extremely intense, for the boys and girls. Do you think PE should be more like this nowadays? I think I would have liked it, and it would improve health generally.
Do schools even have PE anymore? Some have even cut out school sports. Or if they do have school sports the participants have to pay to play. Those days girl's sports were things like badminton, tennis, and volleyball.
Students have varying levels of fitness and it's not easy to design a program that allows all to participate without shame. PE should not focus on competition between students, or require students to disrobe in front of others.
Yes, it is quite different than it is nowadays.
PE should also be everyday for all grades. 🙂
