Do you agree and why?
Comments welcome
NO I don't agree! Religion has NO PLACE IN OUR SCHOOLS OR GOVERNMENT! Religious Cults that push there phony fucking garbage on others are totally useless self centered piles of dog shit. Religion is to be taught in your church or temple etc of choice not in our fucking schools. We have enough issues making them learn to read and write. I do think the pledge of allegiance SHOULD be said at the beginning of every school morning and taught the meaning of it. That however is much to sensible for our bible thumping community.
You Think!! These fucking thug Jim Jones bible busting righteous snobs will soon having the kids drinking the cool aid
I always thought it is down to the parents and school board to decide as well as voters
So much for that separation of church and state, huh? If they allow the Bible, then they are going to have to allow other religious materials in the classroom as well to be represented. The church of Satan is gonna have a field day with this.
They don't teach that in schools. Stop believing fox news, they already have admitted to lying and being an entertainment channel, not a news source.
That is also something else that should NOT EVER be taught in schools.
If the school board & PTA approves the church of Satan well it can't be stopped though parents will opt out like trans storytime
They can't ban it from happening. Schools are not allowed to ban students from practicing their religion at school which means if students wanted to start their own club for it, they can.
It's okay for public schools to teach the Bible in context... that some people follow it... and they should also cover the Quran, Torah, Book of Mormon, Bhagivadgita, and other religious texts, to inform the student that religion often plays a role in a person's morals and beliefs, but that not everyone has the same beliefs, and that's okay.
Did you leave any space in there for things like History, Math, English (it is our language) and the sciences. That just might be a better use of taxpayer money. You want religion with your learning plenty of private schools, likely some for most all religions.
@katiesmuff I believe the bible is religious text and religion is a subject just like geography is it not?
@Gwendoline In a sense it is and it is covered very well in every Sunday school there is so as a young girl in a very catholic family I spent my time in those elements through Catechism classes starting around 3rd grade.
@katiesmuff I was in a Catholic primary school, we did it for half an hour each week in school in the years we were doing the sacraments confession/communion and confirmation. It was no big deal. Most of the schools loved it because it got their school in the local paper
nothing wrong with teaching the Bible in schools
it's almost as if removing the Bible from schools has to led to so many of the problems in the country today from depression to crime to divorces and generally people having shitty attitudes to one another
of course the Left tries to replace this with woke ideology in the name of "tolerance"
The inclusion of religious texts in schools, like the Bible, is a topic that intertwines education with cultural and spiritual values. It's essential to balance constitutional guidelines and respect diverse beliefs. If used educationally, studying various religious texts can foster understanding and cultural awareness. However, it should be approached in a way that respects pluralistic values and individual beliefs, ensuring an inclusive environment for all students. Schools should provide an opportunity for students to explore a range of perspectives, promoting critical thinking and open-mindedness.

I am old enough to remember saying the Lord's Prayer every day before we would stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. I don't have a problem with it but I think there are better ways to integrate some religion into daily life.
Where the hell are the rest of us normal people!
In primary school we used to say the lords prayer& hail mary with some other prayers. The pledge of allegiance seems so alien to me but when in Rome...
@Gwendoline Your would be Hail to the King or Queen! By the way I do agree one of our biggest problems with crime and such is the lack of parental training and teaching at home and again it comes down to greed. Instead of being happy with the little house and raising a family with one parent staying home everyone needs the bigger one, several cars etc and both have to work to pay for all it.
@katiesmuff My wife stayed home with the kids and we lived on one income. We were the exception. My wife is a Physical Therapist and another income would have been nice but we did not want strangers raising our kids. They got to play in their own yard and when they were sick they got to stay in bed and my wife would take care of them. They never got to go to disneyworld like their friends did. I have no regrets
Didn't the forefathers want separation of church and state?
I guess that's a bad thing now? Surely nothing bad happens when religion runs a country. Can't think of any examples right now.
Is the Qur'an also allowed in these schools?
I see no problem with it. Though I would trust schools with my kid's religious education.
Why don't you get off your dead ass and teach them yourself if that is what you want!
@katiesmuff I plan to. As I was taught. So many parents these days rely on teachers, nannies, daycare workers, babysitters and the tv to basically raise their kids for them.
I have no issues with it. Some people will be screaming about it though.
It was never forbidden to have a bible in school.
True! We just don't need classes on it in school. Plenty of fine churches more than willing to take that job.
