Do you agree or disagree with critical race theory being taught to students in K-12?

Disagree with it being taught because they teach inaccurate history, and they try to convince students that if they perform poorly on tests, it is White people's fault. They are in the same class, have the same materials and the same teacher, but when they don't study or do the assignments and perform poorly, it is blamed on racism.
They tell students that is is racist to require English classes, and to have word problems in math that are in English.
They also teach students that arresting people for graffiti is racist and is only done to oppress POC's opinions.
Why do I think that? Because I have personally witnessed it multiple time in the district I currently work in.
We need to put a stop to it. Kids are not learning basic skills in school anymore.
it's not exactly productive nor is it entirely true either... they should get back to basics like math reading... spelling etc... that will actually help you land a job someday when you graduate... critical race is just that a theory.
I don't even know what 'Critical Race Theory' is, and I couldn't be bothered looking it up because I do know that it has something to do with divisive politics, once again. What's K-12?
K-12 is what they call school-aged kids. K = kindergarten and 12 is 12th grade/senior (last year of school for American kids). Usually this will be ages 5-6 through 17-18.

I encourage all of the non-whites unhappy with living in Amerikkka to go back to where they came from and take the self-hating white liberals with you. I'm tired of being told that I have to hate myself, my culture, and my race because of the boogey man of "racism". I love being white. I love living in a country built by white people. I love my ancestor's history and culture. I'm not sorry for imperialism or slavery or whatever other BS I'm told I need to grovel at the feet of others for. White nations weren't alone in using slavery or imperialism in the past, but we did it better than anybody else so non-whites are just jealous and seething.
I would not go that far. America should be a place that welcomes people from all over the world. All 4 of my grandparents were immigrants. When they got here the legal way they got jobs and worked hard and bought homes and raised families and were prime examples of the American Dream. They knew they were lucky to be hrer
@exitseven Why does America have to welcome everybody from all over the world? Why is it only white countries that have to do that? Nobody makes the argument that other countries have to import millions of immigrants year after year for decades until their culture and heritage have been erased, but apparently America, Canada, and other European countries must do that.
Nobody is happy with that arrangement either, multiculturalism is causing a lot of social friction because different ethnicities and races have different social structures and ideas about how things should be done. And besides just the civil unrest, people become disconnected from their ethnic identities that were built up over thousands of years and rootless. It leaves them depressed and to cope they form these weird funkopop identities that people have these days.
Disagree. It's basically just teaching racism to kids. "Oh I'm sorry Jamal, you're just a retard that gets manipulated by white people and you can't even figure out how to be a racist." "Oh little Timmy, you're white, and all you do is oppress everyone... yeah you're half Asian, but you're just a fucking racist... you basically killed the Jews."
It's all fucking bullshit racism and it's just packaged differently than how some racist Grandpa would put it.
Jesus... looking at the stats of who voted and for what. I'm starting to think women push this racist shit...50% of them that is. All of us dudes seem to recognize that it's bullshit, but only 50% of women do. That's fucking scary.
I think we need to decide what "critical race theory" actually means. People use that phrase to mean completely different things.
I'm happy with including this history of racial injustice and slavery because those affected a huge number of americans and still have echos today. I'm not OK with telling anyone that they bear responsibility for what other people who look like them did.
I'm just not a fan of the way the curriculum is set up to teach kids to analyze these problems primarily through the lens of race. We aren't helping anyone by telling them that they reason their lives suck is because of something totally outside of their control.
It's a race to the bottom when you think that way.
You can't break from a prison until you know you're in one...
Studying the problem never fixes it but hopefully it encourages someone to do.
And hopefully it kills off racism more and all of that type of stuff.
But you can't fully kill racism until you kill the cause... Race
No one of any age should be exposed that garbage
Nope, I think the pawns of the Frankfurt School that push it should be hung for treason.
The entire purpose is to brainwash a generation of children into a cult so that urban students can be leveraged as cannon fodder in a bloody socialist revolution to overthrow the government of the United States of America and to rob and murder the average citizenry. It is an act of war that uses people's own children against them.
Under Mao retards like him ransacked people's homes stole their belongings and buried them alive. Under Hitler people like him ransacked people's homes, stole their belongings, and shot them in the head and left them to rot in the streets. Under Pol Pot people like him ransacked people's homes stole their belongings and executed them in the killing fields. People like him are pure evil.
It's not being taught, and it's not a theory. It's just a longer view of history.
It's absolutely, provably being taught. There are numerous organizations who teach it, provide materials to teach it, and perhaps worst of all, pushed new textbooks that integrate it into areas that should have nothing to do with it. For example, math "word problems" that heavily and overtly push CRT. If you believe otherwise, you haven't been paying attention.
And it's not history at all - the whole thing is built around the Marxist idea that ALL human interaction needs to be REDEFINED through the lens of oppressors and victims. Critical Race Theory is just Marxist "Critical Theory" using race as a dividing factor, instead of class as Marx originally defined it. The creators of CRT are quite proud of being Marxists and not only didn't hide its Marxist origins, they celebrate it.
Like all Marxism, it is intentionally designed to DIVIDE people rather than bring them together. The ultimate goal of Marxism is to have a small pool of wealthy, all-powerful elite, ruling over a mass of powerless peasants - with the full destruction of the middle class - and of course this quickly and inevitably leads to totalitarian dictatorships who must enforce their rule with terror and violence.
I believe a true and honest history should be taught
I was never taught any such theory so I don't know anything about it.
I disagree with racist, race don't matter to me, I don't care who anyone is
No it’s not really taught in most places
I have friends who teach at multiple schools and they don’t teach it
I suspect you are thinking it's taught like a separate course, like math or history. Instead, it's been integrated into all traditional subjects, as well as being a general attitude, in most schools. It's possible that your friends are in more conservative areas where they've rejected CRT, but it's incredibly common in most states, especially blue states.
It's NOT needed!!
