Is this insulting advice in your opinion?

Somebody who knew I had been trying to write a book suggested I write a book about my life and how hard its been so people would feel sorry for me. I think that is insulting advice. I have experience, insight, relevant commentary on the world, and positive and intelligent ideas to commit to the world, so writing a "me, me, me, me," book is pointless and would undermine all my beauty and intelligence as a thinker and believer in God. I'm too smart to be a pity case that makes money asking people to pity me and feel sympathy for me. I can make money by adding value to people's minds and thoughts and lives.

I only "know" you from on here, but I think you're a pretty cool person. Some people aren't. The me me me pity me me me type of person that your "somebody" was saying you should write about is likely because that's the type of person he/she is. That's their loss. F their advice. Stay strong, and keep kicking butt.

A beauty of reading is that it allows the reader to live thousands of lives they never imagined living.

Sharing your own is not a pity party but an open invitation for others to relive your experiences with you and perhaps gain benefits you have gained with much less effort.

The advice is phrased a little poorly. However if you do not know what to write, writing a story that you know best in the world makes sense.

While i do agree with you, i also have to say that it won't be a me me book. It'll be an autobiography, and thats what they are. Theyre about the challenges you went through to reach the successful stage you're on now. I dont think its insulting, since everyone has major complications growing up.

If it's going to be about you, make it an inspirational, so how you found God, rough paths you have overcome and advice and helpful inspirational information.

I don’t think that was an insult. You never know how that might encourage someone else going through similar situations.
