What is the average number of hours you study per day as a student?

When I was a student - I spent 4 hours preparing for each class on average and sometimes 5 but if there was no preparation work then it would be 3 hours reading things and sometimes 2 if we were not being graded on it. The school recommended 6 hours of preparation for each lecture but nobody does that cause its not necessary unless you are doing engineering or math. I know engineering guys studied 12 hours a day but humanity people studied 2 hours a day.

I studied religion but I was trying to get into grad school so I aimed to get the highest grade in every class, cause if you are just trying to graduate and don't care about your GPA you would only need 2 hours a day. I never went to grad school but I don't feel it was wasted cause I learned so much about life through my time in school.

definitely, education is never a waste of time. did you study continuously throughout the semester or more during/before exam season?

The way my school was set up was that less than 35% of your graded material gets submitted during the first 7 weeks and over 65% of your graded material gets submitted during the last 5 weeks. I had classes where over 50% of your grades were determined by your behaviour during the last 3 weeks of class and the first 9 weeks was less than 40% of your grade. So I often had a lot of free time during the first 5 weeks and no free time during the last 3 weeks.

I think that system is very good! in most of my classes, my grade entirely depends on the exam that I have to write at the end of the semester. It makes me feel more relaxed during the semester but at the same time it stresses me out so much

The way I calmed down as a student was I would over aim. An 85% at my school is a perfect A so I would study until I knew I could get at least a 92% - that way if I mess up on the exam - I still have an 88% which is a perfect A.

Depends on the timing, honestly. If it's just a week before exam then about 4-5 hours per day. During examinations, 8-10 hours per day. Otherwise for prolonged courses and stuff that includes some research, 2-3 hours per day.

haha are you still a student? 😂 sometimes i‘m very motivated and study for about 5-7 hours and other days i don‘t study at all haha so i‘m really trying to find more balance

Nope i got kicked out at 14 🥴 and at least you study, 5-7 hours is big study time, seems like a balance tbh, you study and rest and it repeats no? You don't wanna push yourself to a study maniac now do u haha

so what do you do now? yea that‘s true, maybe i‘ll just keep it as it is haha. I‘m very happy with my grades, i just get stressed each semester that i will fail my classes 😂 maybe i just need to chill more

I have my own small online business, I've been kinda slacking on growing it tho, I've been wasting the earnings, I gotta work on that but either ways, you should take your breathers tho Emilia, but definitely keep it balanced, if you think you need more breaks then take em, as long as you maintain your focus and motivation on your goals 😬
