Too much responsibility for me. I'm not well-suited to all but the smallest administrative roles. One possible explanation is that I'm deeply empathetic. I really care deeply about the well-being of people who work under me, and I lose sleep at night if even one person is struggling. Another might be that I'm just lazy! Either way, I don't really have what it takes to manage a large team of people. I'm better suited for very small teams.
Other is that my sense of morality tends to conflict with business interests. For example, I once worked at a software engineer firming and we had the most loyal QA guy. But he developed type-2 diabetes and started getting sick all the time and had to take whole weeks away from work. My PM wanted to fire him but I threw a massive protest because this QA guy had worked loyally for the company for over 20 years. I couldn't really see the practical business side of firing him back then (I was in my 20s) and threatened to quit if they fired him even though I was lead engineer. They kept him around at my insistence but after a while I started to genuinely see how much he was a burden to the company so I begrudgingly allowed them to fire him, but with huge benefits package. I don't think I have that type of ruthlessness to properly manage a business.
I was a supervisor of a 10 person software group, several years ago. I was successful at it, but it wasn't something I enjoyed, and I was better at other things, so after a year, I returned to being a technical person, and let someone else supervise the group.
Being a supervisor or managers these days isn't really worth it. You require a lot more experience, education and training than those below you but the real kicker is that with all that extra work and responsibility the pay is marginally better. Like if the other employees are getting minimum wage you are getting $1 maybe $2 per hour on top of that.
when i'm head of strings i hate it except then i get things to sound the way i want which no one ever does right (according to me)

As a business owner, I handle just about everything.
I was already a vice president, but I don’t like being a supervisor because you have to handle all the responsibility and there’s nothing hardly in the pay the upgrade
I am the owner. The hardest part is balancing personalities.
Not at all yet, though my fantasy job includes me being one.
Have been, currently am.
probably not
