Should I accept a management position at my job?

JustinTheGreat

Pros:

-Salary pay. Don’t have to worry about the inconsistency of earning tips. Starting I’d make $60,000 plus bonuses

-first time I’d have benefits of a “real” job. Full health benefits, 4 weeks paid vacation a year, PTO days. They even send managers on trips to Italy and stuff

-I talked to my brother in law about it (he’s also in the food industry and he makes a lot of money. so I trust his judgment) and he thinks it’s a great opportunity so I should definitely do it

Cons:.

-I’m sick of being in the food industry. Definitely not something I’d want to do for the rest of my life or anything.

-I already was a manager at a restaurant and I hated it. But that was fast food so its definitely different. Before I felt like I was babysitting a bunch of teenage worker and it was miserable. At least here everyone’s pretty independent so it’s not the same.
I like serving/bartending so I’m afraid I’ll regret my decision moving up and wish I went back to crew, the way I regretted it at my last management position.

I accepted it y’all. I’m not going to be doing my training right away though. They’re gonna start me off as a service professional (which is basically an assistant to the manager) and a trainer and they’re gonna see how I do from there.
My boss says that it still might be a little while before I get the management position but he is now aware that it’s something that I’m interested in.
