I'm still working on getting my driver's license. But my parents did buy a 2nd gen Volvo, 'cause of just that.

I mean, other than that car, we only owned those with Automatic gearboxes. But I figured that if I'd ever get a job where at least one of the company cars are a Manual, then I would've come prepared.

Yes I can. I had a stick shift car for many years. Now, though, I drive an automatic... other family members sometimes drive my car and they are clueless with a stick.

Here in the UK it's more beneficial to learn to drive using a manual gearbox as you then have the option of driving an automatic as well.

If you learn and pass on an automatic you can then only drive an automatic.

No. The only time I ever drove one, I did the steering and the girl that owned it did the shifting.

I can drive a manual car. I ride manual motorcycles also.

Much prefer an automatic car though while still preferring manual motorcycles.
