How to raise daughters?

My dad raised me telling me there was nothing impossible for me, he was always making sure I was confident,

always reminding me how proud he was of me,

always trusting me and listening me when I needed,

He taught me self defense and that’s something I’d change, he always told me life is full with wolves and of they think you are a sheep, they’ll eat you, you should be a wolf, at some point I thought it was my job to be very strong, so I always was on an attack mode.

The only thing I’d change is, I’d let myself relax a little bit, I know he wanted me to be able to protect myself when he wouldn’t be around but it made me very alert to surroundings. I wish I could be more relaxed.

He is the best dad I could dream about and I am blessed to have him, I am proud of him and everything I’ll ever manage to do, will be because he gave me the power and the wings to reach the impossible things and know that there’s nothing impossible for me.

All the great things I admire in myself are ingrained in me by him and I am thankful to him and proud of him because of that.

He’s always been my inspiration.

I always thought that instead of the great people we read about in history, we should thank their parents, because these people had parents who knew how to raise the children who could change the world. I think my dad is one of these people. One of the most exceptional and inspirational people I’ve met, a man of great heart and a mind. A warrior.

You didn't mention your mother. Was she around?

Thank you. Yep, I have a wonderful father, I am really lucky.

My mother has been around as well, and she has been a great mother, she was always very understanding, inspirational and an amazing person, but we had a tensed relationship since she had a severe depression and severe mood swings, causing her to be the sweetest, the most giving, the most loving and devoted mom in the world and emotionally unavailable the next day. This contrast has had a negative impact on my life, because I would often wake up and don’t know who would my mother be that day. She treated her depression and is doing much better now, I forgave her. I understand why she was the way she was.

I thank my mother for my mind, she is an exceptionally smart woman, she made me fall in love with books and always pushed me to better myself. My dad taught me how to fly, but my mom taught me how to fall, I thank her for my open-mind, because she has always been very open-minded, I thank her for my interpersonal skills, for my ability to be understanding and tolerant to lots of different people, for my success, as I’d not be successful had I not been pushed to exceed my limits by her.

But the greatest ambitions and the ability to be outstanding- that’s what my dad gave me.

Oh, and the most important thing my mom did for me - made me love myself the way I was.

I had birthmarks in my eyes and while they indeed are beautiful in their own way, I might have been bullied had I not been myself, but being myself I was proud and happy of every part of myself, because my mom (who’s a very beautiful and a feminine woman) taught me that I should love myself and that I am beautiful and my birthmark is yet one more prove that I am special and one in a billion type of girl.

She would always say, it was good I had birthmarks because if I ever got lost she’d always find me, so she made my birthmarks positive influence on my life, as a result, I was walking in streets and when people caught my eyes, they came and said compliments to me, because I looked with bright eyes and I was confident.

Your mother was right to teach you to love yourself just the way you are. I'd say that you are a one in 4 billion girl, totally glorious and proud of your uniqueness.

These days I don’t do anything glorious, the most glorious things I’ve done, were before the age 23.

But I do something I feel happy with and I do get paid for sharing my experience.

I'd raise my daughter to know she is loved. I'd let her know she has great value and to hold on to that value. Better to wait for a gentleman than to settle. She should never expect anything and work hard for what she wants. She should always pay for herself and if someone helps her she should be grateful. She will grow up knowing she is wanted.

teach them to actually respect men the same way sons are taught in schools and households to respect women but the gynocentric social order would never allow that to happen

I taught my daughter how to change a flat tire and do an oil change. she knows how to save money and can probably kick some serious butt if need be.

that sounds like a great start yes... and what I've done for the most part (no, I don't have an actual daughter)

especially the part in which you prepare the young ones for life... give them a shield, don't lock them in a fortress, show them how to use it best, and more importantly, that they learn how to get up when it doesn't work as well, that's key

Nah. You don't have to be an MMA fighter to know some self defense.

I would teach her to love and respect herself, to know her value as a woman, and to not allow anyone to take advantage of her. I would also teach her to respect and value men, something most mothers don't teach girls these days. And finally, I would set an example of what a good man is and how he treats a woman.
