Bringing up 3 children?

I am looking for a bit of advice from other parents nothing against the dads but I would like to hear from other moms. How are you handling raising your kids, I have 3 children ranging from 14 - 10 and the hormones are starting to rage? My husband is a good and loving husband but he isn't much help in the area.
Is there any advice out there?

Since all children are different you have to do what I call creative parenting. For example my oldest twin got into trouble in elementary school 4th grade in the after school program. Her and 2 or 3 others were cussing and being fools. The school called me. Her punishment was to write a formal apology to the after school program teachers and she was also taken out of it for 1 week.


It worked for her she never did that again.

Introduce them to meditation or prayer and get them to do a productive activity like karate or Pilates

It’s a possibility that he’s not good because he doesn’t know how or does not feel that he can be helpful…let’s hope so.

Honey, I need ab or c. Can you do those things for me…? Men are funny. We like to solve and serve the ones close to us. You have to make Dad the hero. Really good if you have boys too.

Can you get me peppercorns from the grocery? Can you and the youngins wash and vacuum my car while I’m doing the inside this Saturday? It goes on and on…
BIG thing :1 month-Car wash. 4 little “helpful kid related tasks a month like peppercorn, has car at Costco etc…

Are they doing extracurricular activities they enjoy? Set expectations and institute a reward system for when they achieve things. Do they have chores around the house?

What are your issues/ trying to accomplish? It can help to put yourself in their shoes/ remember what you were like at that age and what you would of responded to best.

my parents didn't share anything with my brother and I. I wanted to know things but unlike today we didn't have the internet and I don't think the internet is the best vehicle to gain certain knowledge!

Basically you are worried in the pursuit of knowledge they will come across misinformation or information that you don't agree with?

Maybe I guess - but I think it's important to be able to talk to your children

get a set of encyclopedias and have them look up stuff my parents got one and I read it from front to back
