Are people who work in manual labor more conservative?

I may have finally got a job, but it's in manual labor, and I've heard that people in that kind of job are often very conservative.

The man I interviewed with seemed nice! It seems like a good job. And I need a job, so of course I hope I get hired.

I'm just worried because most conservatives that I've met don't like me. It's not a problem normally, I can leave. But at work you have to get along.

Is it true that jobs like warehouse workers or construction workers are more conservative than in other jobs like tech workers or customer service workers? Or is this just a false stereotype?

I think it has more to do with the political ideology that is pushed onto people and the fact that the working class doesn't have time to stop, think, research, question, and decide for themselves what's real and true. So when they hear things that are construed to threaten their way of life, examples: take jobs, cost tax money, others not doing their jobs, etc.. they believe it then follow along with whoever said it because the one who said it also points out who the reason for this threat is.

So in short, it's not that the working class is mostly conservative, most of them just don't want their life to change.

They will be in the party that can effectively say the other one threatens their way of life.

In life people are rarely one-dimensional. You might disagree with those co-workers on politics, and those might end up being the people who are there to help you if your car doesn't start or who invite you over for dinner or out for drinks.

It's not that I think they're evil. I've had conservatives do something nice like that before, and I've done nice things like that before. It just seems that always at some point they become hostile no matter what I do or say.

Everyone comes from a different background. Just be nice don't be annoying or an asshole and you'll do fine.
