Should an employer calling an applicant leave a voicemail?

I don’t answer if I don’t know who the person is. I’ve gotten tons of BS scam calls that have lead me to be that way. How are you gonna call someone who applied to your job ad, then not leave a voicemail? So unprofessional

That’s the same way I am I get so many spam calls per day and I don’t know who’s calling and i’m expecting a friends attorney to call me soon and I don’t answer the phone unless they leave me a voicemail message then I always return the voicemail message because I don’t recognize any phone numbers just to pick it up and start talking to a random phone solicitor
