Stone Age people used to make holes in people's heads to cure headaches. This is called trepanning.

Trepanation is still used nowadays in medicine for traumatic brain injuries following accidents for example, when the brain starts swelling and the pressure may ultimately cause death if pressure is not relieved. The means to do it is to cut a small circular hole in the skull to allow for excess fluid to escape, thus reducing the pressure on the brain.

There are no "stone age" cures for measles, the disease caused by a virus. There are not even very efficient cures for measles nowadays except preventive measures. Post outbreak measures would include the use of fever reducers, vitamin A or antibiotics.

I bet hitting yourself with a stick would cure more than measles. If it didn't cure them then it would at least get your mind off it.

I don't even know if measels existed in the stone age, but i guess they would cast out the one infected to protect the community.
