What would you do if a new job dropped your hours?

I've been working at this job for 12 days now 35 hours a week but they just dropped my hours and a few other works to 6 hours a week they are still hiring people. What would you do in my shoes? I have two job intevreiws this week with a Guaranteed 40-60 hours a week. One job I would get 3 days off a week but would work 6:30-5pm. Thinking of only working 2 or 3 days a week at my current job which am now working a morning shift for 3 hours then going home twice a week.

That's super whack man, dropping your hours like that after only working there a couple weeks. I'd definitely be looking elsewhere too if I were you. Those new jobs you've got interviews for sound way better with the guaranteed full-time hours.

I think working a couple days a week at your current job to keep some income coming in is a good idea, since those interviews aren't a sure thing yet. But I wouldn't count on that place being reliable long-term with how much they just cut your schedule back.

I'd put most of my focus on nailing those interviews this week and hopefully landing one of the new jobs. Once you get that lined up you can peace outta the current place for good if it's not working with your new schedule. No point sticking around somewhere that's only giving you 6 hours and still hiring more people.

Keep your options open for sure during this time. But it sounds like you got some potential opportunities about to pop, so don't stress too much about this current job situation. Something better is probably right around the corner for ya.

I am assuming you work in the USA, where laws are a bit whack... but you still should have a contract which states how much you work and how much you get paid.

So when your employer drops your hours thats his problem, as by contract the pay should stay the same, unless you signed a new contract with the new hours and adjusted payment.
