I have an awful job of taking files out of Recall boxes and checking for the relevant information. Then taking out the paper from the file and doing the data entry info from it.
I've been doing this since August 2023.
In that time my hand us starting to become weak.
I've had back pain, shoulder pain, now my fingers are cramping from pulling out the paper from the ringbinders. When I lift, pull open doors, brush my hair, even changing my tops from getting dressed, the top half of my arm is quite painful.
My wrists are starting to hurt from lifting the files as they weigh about 1kg each.
If I'm trying to get up off the floor or my chair, my arm starts shaking uncontrollably.
I went to my boss and she said do a few boxes at a time and do something else in between
I need to leave but my. family won't let me.
I owe my family some money. I worked it out and I'll fully pay them back by end of May.
They still won't me leave without a job to go and said I'll embarrass the rest of the family and I'm a failure and to suck it up and you won't be able to find anything within 6-12 months.
My arm is in pain and they think I'm making it up.
If I keep doing this job I might not be able to work again if my arm gets worse.
My sister says " I'm tired of your complaining about lifting files"
I would rather have no job than do this.
Would you go to. the doctors to get a medical certificate to show your family you're not lying?
Would you leave without a job even if it is causing you pain?
