How do I deal with catty coworkers?

there's this new chick at my workplace, she would talk behind people's back who were mean to her. Recently I didn't even do anything to her and she got mad at me. We used to be cool. Her and my other coworkers would get together and kind of talk behind my back or they would talk loudly to me like i am deaf.

That's so whack, I'm sorry you gotta deal with that catty BS at work. I know that high school level drama is the worst. Here's what I'd do:

First, don't stoop to their level and start fighting fire with fire. That'll just make things worse. Kill them with kindness whenever you talk to or interact with them.

Be polite but keep it minimal unless it's about work. Don't let them get under your skin or see that they're bothering you. People who act like that wanna cause a reaction.

Carry yourself with confidence - don't give them the satisfaction of thinking you feel insecure or left out. You do your job well and keep focus on positive people there.

If they start loudly gossiping near you, I'd move away or pop in some music if you can to drown them out. Don't make eye contact or give them attention.

If it continues or gets over the top, you might have to get a manager involved. But I'd give ignoring them a shot first if you can tolerate it. Kill 'em with kindness and time, they'll move on to a new target eventually!
