Should LGBTQ stuff be taught at schools, or is it something that we as individuals should learn on our own?

My opinion on this is that if I had kids, I would rather they learn these things themselves than at schools. I'm just curious about everyone's opinions on this. That why I'm asking.

Leaving children totally ignorant and assuming they won't get information somewhere is really only possible if you've never interacted with, or been, a child (looking at you, governor DeSantis!). That said, a basic rundown is all you need; something like "Most of the time, people are attracted the opposite sex; that's called 'being straight'. Sometimes, people are attracted the same sex; that's called 'being gay or lesbian'. Sometimes, people are attracted to both; that's called 'being bisexual, or bi'. It's not something people choose, and you shouldn't treat them differently because of it.".

That should cover it.

Kids need to be prepared to face the real world, to have enough factual education to make their own decisions, to live their own lives. This means when doing sexual education, you cover everything, parents are also responsible for this, school and parents providing factual information free from bigotry or bias.

I have no problem with schools acknowledging that LGBTQ people exist, but schools should not be emphasizing them, nor teaching how to become one. That should be left up to parents.
