Why shouldn't LGBT or pride stuff be taught in elementary to high school?

What are some negative impacts this will have on children? I ask this because I just want to learn. Not because I support LGBT being taught in schools.

Because it’s too divisive a social issue. Teaching children should revolve around issues that are not sitting on the political border of conflicting opinions.
Is it fair to teach a Muslim, Catholic, or really any child about a topic or behavior his religion already teaches is morally wrong and force him to participate in such lessons? I say no. We cannot and should not try and mandate views and opinions.
Critics of this opinion will (often) automatically respond with some rhetoric about hate & bigotry but the absence of teaching this subject does not default to hate and bigotry any more or less than having blocks of lessons about life as a handicapped person, or a religious sect, or person with a medical condition, or any of the other hundreds of things that make any human unique and different.
We can just teach respect for others in all their uniqueness without discussing sex acts, which truthfully, shouldn’t be the authority of the state but rather the parents who know their children best.

Because your confronting young kids with sex normalizing it to them. The next step that will be argued is that its perfectly fine to have sex with kids because they understand the implications, after all they have been thought since the second year in school when they were 6 years old.

Real world example, there is a school 5 minutes away from my house which has a pride flag in the playground a lot of the time. So I did some digging into what they are teaching. They consider it "healthy" to have some form of sex-ed in all classes and this is an elementary school.

So i looked up the methodology they are using which had some sample lessons on their site. One of the sample lessons for 6 year olds is which parts of the body are pleasant to touch and which are not. They do this under the guise of teaching kids its not appropriate for others to touch you there. But they do wink wink nudge nudge say that its totally fine to touch yourself there when others aren't around and that it can feel good.

The same authors had a video where they have parents interview their child. One mom was interviewing her son about the fact he masturbates and the kid was clearly uncomfortable. The age? 4 years old.

And that blatent pedophelia isn't even getting into the whole issue of gender identity which is harming children. They have no sense of gender identity since they are still pre puberty and in a world of make believe. They need to be able to just play out their child like fantasies until they hit puberty. And around those years teaching them its ok if they aren't streight is fine.

Just keep all this trash away from kids, let them discover and explore on their own and stop causing victims by trying to claim the child is a different gender. They have no idea so they will believe you. And then are scarred for the rest of their lives if they transition.

Also a bit of additional context, after my discovery I did research on every single elementary school in my area. To my knowledge the rest of them doesn't have a sex themed flag on the playground. None of the other schools use these sex-ed methodologies. The course is currently optional so the majority of children won't be confronted with it to the extremity I just described. It also wasn't a thing in our generation, so understand its a new trend that I know 1/3rd of schools in my country currently participate in. You can simply not encounter it if your parents pick a proper school.

As a former middle school, and high school teacher, the only reason I can think that anything related to the LGBTQ+ Community shouldn't be taught is solely because none of it will appear on standardized tests, and here in the United States of America (USA), standardized tests are the key to advancing through school, which ultimately is a negative aspect on students.

It's a sad reality, but the fact of the matter is, it's difficult to fit in any additional curriculum not related to standardized tests, given the timespan of a typical schoolyear.

Those are things that should be addressed at home because they are inherently about personal values. Furthermore, there is so much else to teach- why aren't elementary schoolchildren in the US learning a foreign language and programming (e. g., Scratch)? Those things, in addition to core subjects, are what should be taught to elementary schoolchildren.

At the middle- and high school level, there should be sex ed, but not discussion of homosexuality within a social context and definitely not sexual pleasure.

First off, there is too much else to learn. They have so much they need to know before high school. The driver for this nonsense if F’ed up adults who want to tamper with the minds of little children, especially the Trans people who I believe are likely schizophrenic in some way.

Second, these kids still believe in Santa and have a right to be innocent for a brief part of their life. They aren’t thinking about sex. Think back, was it a big deal for you? No. And it wasn’t for those that want it, its something they came to realize later and now want to force children to confront it when they barely learned their alphabet… its weird.

Its not that its being taught, its that many schools are making it mandatory and denying parents the right to "opt out".

I remeber in elementary and middle school a lot of very religious parents would opt their kids out of certain lessons. And it was no questions asked. School would accomodate with no issue.

Its not a bad Idea to teach in school what LGBT is and how it works. Its a big movement. But parents should still have the right to have a say in what their kids are learning. It's their right not only as parents but as taxpayers too.

Teaching LGBTQ to highschoolers is the same as "grooming kids to have a particular bias". I'll probably get a lot of hate for saying this. It is like an institution is promoting right wing/left wing ideologies. Teach what is unanimously agreed upon and scientifically backed. It's the same reason teaching mythology in high school is absurd. Teach what is important to learn and survive. Teach finance, taxes, accounting, basic principles in science, math, health and hygiene, sex education and safe sex, rights and laws. Another thing I don't find to be much useful is history (yes people are going to hate me for this too 😂)

I don't even see it in the schools. I only see it in the colleges. Maybe that's just me, though.

I've seen them have classes like that as an AP class, but that's like college-level in a high school setting. I never seen it as a part of the core curriculum, but I don't know for sure.

To me, I guess it's fine as long as you choose to study it in college, and that's it. It's your money.

In my opinion, children should have the freedom to observe and acquire information at their own pace. Indoctrination is inherently wrong. Therefore, in my view, information about LGBT should be provided when children have already formed their beliefs and only need accurate knowledge to fill in the missing pieces.
