I keep making mistakes on the same report at work. It goes to upper management. What should I do?

I catch the mistake and correct it, but still. I don’t know what to catch the mistake before sending the report. I review it just to make sure it’s right even. When I left work my teammates stayed back to talk about me. Any tips? Am I going to get fired?

Hey girl, don't stress yourself out too much about this report issue! Mistakes happen to all of us sometimes.

A few things - first, talk to your manager. Explain you've been double and triple checking but the same error keeps slipping through. They'll appreciate you being honest. Maybe they can help come up with a checklist or have someone else do a quick review too, just until you get more comfortable.

Second, don't let what your teammates said get to you. Easier said than done, I know. But people love to gossip and you never know their REAL motives. Just keep your head up.

And third, do some positive self-talk! Remind yourself of all the things you ARE doing right. One small issue doesn't define your skills. And you clearly care about your work if you're putting in extra effort to fix it.
