Should I leave a former employer off my resume?

long story ahead sorry just wanted to give enough info on this question i'm asking.

i worked 6 years for a company i left in march of last year.
i did every thing i could to leave on good terms with the new manager who came in.
i find out later she is lying to jobs saying i did not leave on good terms. even though i give her a months notice.

so i emaied the ceo many times. & i guess the bad store manager or her boss told the company i stole.

was talking to my mom after all the interviews i have had recent. but got no job offers so far.
she said i should remove this company from my resume.

but if i did this i would have a 6 year gap on my resume. & it would leave very good info off about how i was the assistant store manager for two years before i left

so my question is this should I leave a former employer off my resume?

Yes. Just adjust the time periods at the places you worked before and after that job and go from there.

i worked for family dollar i can put that down.

but other then that noting as i left jobs quickey or did not stay too long
