What was the profession you wanted to be in when you were a child and what is your current profession?

When I was a kid I loved dinosaurs. I wanted to be a paleontologist because I thought that meant finding dinosaur skeletons.

When I was 11 or 12, I wanted to be musician (guitar). By age 16, I wanted to be a rock star. I was lead guitar and lead vocalist in popular garage bands. But I found out that the music industry eats people alive and decided not to try to go professional.

I attended community college with no career goals in mind.

When I was 26, I got handed a job as a motor vehicle damage field appraiser/adjuster. It was a great company and I wound up loving the job because I was out on my own driving around seeing interesting places all day. The salary was great and it had amazing benefits. I did that for 30 years until I retired with a pension and lots of money in a 401(k).

When I was a little kid, (around 7) I wanted to be an engineer, and that's what my long career has been... electrical engineer, software engineer, systems engineer.

When I was like six or seven, I saw a real video of a woman giving birth and immediately knew I wanted to do something with birth. As I got older, I wanted to be a forensic scientist, social worker, actor, psychologist, embryologists, etc.

As an adult, I am a birth worker, so I went right back to the original dream job lol.

From the time I was about 4 years old I was fascinated with planes and flying, and I'm currently working as a Professional Pilot with a Degree in Aeronautical Engineering.

Engineer/Inventor was the first thing I wanted to be when I was a child.

I wanted to design and make things. And I'm not that as of right now, but I've realized I've always like design related things. So I'd say I'm in the right field.
