What is your current occupation  VS  What was your dream job when you were kid?

I always wanted to be a fighter pilot until I got nearsighted. I even attended a Air Force prep course for a few years in highschool so when I joined I'd be several ranks up.

Reality = I became a caregiver for my single mother to keep her from a nursing home. She had some form of breakdown & I had to leave a life living in Miami, fiance left as well to come back home to take care of her, that was 23 years ago. Love is sacrifice, or so it seems to me. I have little to show for it other than the man I've become.

I'm that rock that holds everything together & I've done it alone the entire time. I'm great with money, mostly work labor jobs like construction, tree service, mechanics etc.. I never went to college, wasn't an option & my 2 siblings left to live their own lives while I sacrificed mine. I'm the youngest.

I'd say 90% of what I make is sacrificed to keep this ship afloat. I love my mother & I let her know on a consistent basis that we're either going to make it or sink together. I'll never abandon her for anything or anyone even if it costs me EVERYTHING. She was a GREAT mom:)

Wanted to be a film director and script writer. I'm currently an aspiring novelist, a blogger, an app developer, a game modder, a comic writer, a parodist, and a gas station attendant. Dabbled in video editing for many years too. Hollywood never happened. Probably a blessing in disguise, given how much of it now has been outed as demented pederasts. Best not to have to worry about keeping company like that.

Dream job as a kid was to be a vet.

But I like some people. I like learning and educating other. And I have another dream job now.

In the middle , preteen stage some other dream jobs I had were:

1) Fisherwoman in Alaska 🐟 🎣
2) Flight attendant ✈ (surely this would have been the worst possible job for me)
3) Underwater welder ✨ 🔧 🔨
4) Environmental conservationist.

I wanted to be an astronaut. It was not jut a kids dream either. I was in Air force ROTC with the plan to become a pilot and eventually get into NASA.
I am currently a Network Administrator but have been teaching computer science for the last few years.

I wanted to be a cartoonist, animator, or special effects guy.

I'm an artist, focusing on logo design. I also did some editing and videography here and there for a few years, but not enough of a return on my investment, and I got tired of dealing with a lot of bad clients.

I am sort of in a related field from what I wanted as a kid (I just assumed I'd be happier and more successful with clients).

I wanted to be a member of SWAT when I was a kid. then I wanted to be a football player when I got to middle school.

I played football up until my junior year of highschool.

In highschool I got into UFC so I started working out more in hopes of becoming a MMA fighter.
I then realized I didn't wanna get punched in the face for a living.

Now I sit at a computer and make money.
