What's a recurring nightmare you have?

One I've had a lot lately is that I'm back taking college courses, but I realize that I've missed class after class, and I'm way behind on work.

I try to catch up, but the professors aren't having any of it, they have no patience for someone who fails to show up on time, every time. As for online courses, I have a nightmare that I missed the dates in which projects were due, and my GPA is taking a nose dive, which will both look horrible, and mean that I've wasted my money, and my parent's money in which they entrusted me to use to better myself.

I find myself waking up, my heart racing and tears glistening in my eyes in frustration. I lookup my transcript, and breathe a sigh of relief when I realize it was only a dream

I'm in a long hallway that looks to be in a factory.
The floor is concrete, but the walls and ceiling are lined with pipes overlapping and entangling eachother.
Once I exit this hallway I enter a huge empty warehouse esque room. Like way bigger than it's supposed to be. It's mainly just a big box of concrete with at the very top on the wall to my left a row of windows, each window devided into 4 smaller panes.
It's so high, you can see outside but some light is shining in through them.
On the other side of this huge hall there are two doorways. They're close to the middle of the far wall.
For some reason I'm always drawn to the door on the left and it's the one I always enter.
Through the doorway I find a small corridor. About 50 cm above my head is the ceiling and I have about a meter to each side for the walls. Every two meters there's a light source in the ceiling shining in a amber color.
The corridor slowly turns to the left.
That's as far as I've gotten.
The weird thing is.
This nightmare might not seem like a nightmare and it doesn't feel like one.
In the dream itself I'm always just curious and intrigued.
However there are 4 things that make this different.
1. I've had this nightmare since I was 7, I'm 34 now. I never know when I'll have it next.
2. It evolves, the hallway in the first part, was the only part when I was a child. I get further each time I have the dream.
3. Eventhough in the dream itself I'm calm and interested, when I wake up I'm laying in a puddle of my own sweat. I'm shaking and feel terrified. My jaw feels like it was held open for a long time. I can't concentrate and I'm basically having a full blown panic attack. I don't normally have panic attacks, only when waking up from this dream.
4. To calm down I look at the ceiling, which is just a white smooth ceiling, and I count square ceiling tiles with a size of about 75 cm by 75 cm. Which again I don't have, but I can imagine them. I don't know why I even do that nor why it helps.

I learned lucid dreaming to put an end to bad dreams and recurring nightmares. You can too.
I had two as a child. Though i had never been to the Grand Canyon, i repeatedly dreamed of falling to my death there. I had another one in which i would fall from an apple tree that was in our backyard. It was funny because the tree was actually pretty small and easily climbable, so NOT intimidating at all. Also, the Incredible Hulk always caught me in that one. Ell oh ell!
Occasionally i still have vivid bad dreams, but as soon as i recognize it as a dream i take control and make everything work out in my favor. Usually through a level of borderline comical violence. Ell oh ell!

Well, there is this really disturbing nightmare I just can't stop having. What happens is that in the morning I wake up into a world where people can't even agree on the basics, like what constitutes a woman. There are men who pretend to be women so they can compete in women's sporting events, children (and adults!) who are bratty and lack discipline, teachers who preach communism, and the U. S. president is a senile geriatric who doesn't even know where he is most of the time. A retarded girl from Scandinavia named Greta is a doomsday preacher who causes depression in young people, and the media applaud her, but others who actually try to make the world a better place (like this billionaire who recently bought what they call a "social media company", and wants speech to be free) are castigated and ostracised.

Can you imagine a world so utterly dysfunctional and horrendous? Yikes! So glad it's not real.

A very large area mix of open space and buildings gunfire, artillery and tank rounds flying everywhere explosions and earth raining down around me. It isn't a place I've been also not a place I have seen though I recognized the text on the walls. Also saw a newspaper with a date... August 15th, 2026. Been a rough week sleep wise. Wife took to sleeping on our little couch next to the bed because I keep talking and moving and she can't wake me up.

Not having lesson plans or not being prepared for class. Not having graded stuff that I promised the kids I would have graded over the weekend. It's like on repetitive repeat.

I don't have nightmares and I barely remember my dreams anymore unless I am woken up during my dreams. They tend to be pretty chill and surreal.

I don't have nightmares any more, as reality is far worse than anything my subconscious could come up with.
