Without any context that seems really stupid advice. So if you're coworker is stealing from the company you're supposed to just throw yourself on the grenade for them? F that.
If you read my other question am I selfish coworker? I was called selfish coworker for not defending my coworker lol I mean I still dont know the whole truth but why would I defend someone I dont know the real story whose at fault?
What if your colleague murdered someone? Would you STILL defend them?

Yeah I was called selfish. If you read my question" am I selfish coworker? " I was called selfish for not defending my coworker which sucks. I was hurt of that comment. That I should always defend my coworker.
