Is it okay to ignore my coworker?

So me and my coworkers are in a group chat together, he asked if anyone knew what time he would be going in.
I sent a pic and said hope this helps.
He later messages me and ask me if I was in because he wanted me to take his order.
I wasn’t so I couldn’t.
He later messages me later at night around the end of my shift saying “hey how are you”
I ignored it because, I’m not sure how to feel. Im almost certain it’s not work related but I don't know.
Why do you think he did this and could it be him trying to talk to me like as a friend or as more?

You could just being assertive and telling him that the groupchat is only for work stuff, and that you don't feel comfortable with talking with your coworkers in a non professional way.

No, since that's called not being a team player.

You have to be able to get along with your coworkers, whether you LIKE them or not. Otherwise, leave the job

I’m a manager, this wouldn’t be considered work related.
Not responding to a coworker for non-work purposes is not a requirement.
The only way you have to respond to
Your coworkers non-work
Related conversations would be at work even though. Depending on position it can be argued you don’t
Have to put up with it, however as a manager I forsure do. I can’t just ignore
My coworkers existence while we work because, they are technically looking up
To me and I have the power to control our environment

You have to be able to get along with your coworkers, point blank. My manager gets along with all his workers. If not, it would be a TOXIC ENVIRONMENT
