What kind of a profession do you think nursing is?

one of the best, one of the toughest, and they are nuts!

What they deal with, the stress and pressure, and long days... and no mistakes. Programmers... they code a defect, they fix it and are a hero. Nurse does something wrong with a patient, lose license or go to jail or fired, or legal mess. Sometimes the tools nurses use don't work and they have to work with bad tools, sick difficult patients. ugh... don't know how they do it. Special breed...

Shouldn't programmers go to jail for causing accidents with bad coding?

It is a tough job. They see all kinds of patients and a lot of them are real hard luck stories. I was in the hospital for almost a month and the nurses make the whole thing work. They were awesome.
