Yes but you also need to be more well-rounded than that. They like to see eclecticness and diversity in your life as well of course good academics. I am a high school teacher and I've written hundreds of letters of recommendations and seen the results of where the kids get to college. It will help but it's not everything.

You need to go to your local community college career center for resume development and interview skills

The only activities worth mentioning on your resume is volunteer, internships, skilled training or certificates and finally any leadership positions
