It really depends. German carries the same grammatical structure as English where you have the pattern of subject, verb, then predicate. In Spanish that structure is somewhat reversed so it’s not as easy to build a sentence. English and Spanish also have very similar vocabulary as they’re both latin-root languages, but English also shares quite a few similarities to German as there are plenty of German words in English as both languages are based in an Anglo-Saxon history. Frankly, the only challenge to learning either as a native English speaker would be how willing they are to learn. Otherwise, the level of challenge is roughly the same.
II took two years of Spanish in College, and although, difficult, for me, German is a MUCH more difficult language to learn. Spanish has many words similar to those in English, and unlike English, Spanish does not have word spelled the same meaning something different ( Example - " Live')
I don't know either, but I imagine German would be easier, since English essentially IS German, crossed with old Norse and a healthy hunk of British. And some French thrown in from their occupation, along a dash of Latin, because why not, at this point.

Grammar is easier in Spanish.
Pronunciation is easier in German.
Vocabulary is a lot in both languages.
I think German would be due to its case system, but what matters most if the amount of contact you have with either language.
