Can I sue my coworker for getting me sick?

This one coworker has a cough and has had it for a month now. She told us it’s because she got an infusion so I didn’t think much of her cough. So me and this coworker would always switch spot. We work different shifts so when I come in she’s going out so I’m her relief. Although we wipe our station down before leaving I managed to catch her cold. I had the cold for two weeks but now I have a whooshing sound in my right ear. The dr told me I had fluid in the back of my ear and I should see a specialist. Coincidentally enough this coworker was explaining to our other coworkers how she has the same problem with her ear and the dr told her the same thing and that she should drain it. I feel like my life was put in danger. Can I do something about it?

You can sue anyone for just about anything, whether or not you win the court case is another matter.

No, you cannot. Generally you cannot sue individuals unless they are quite wealthy, because even if you win, you can't collect. Consequently no lawyer will take the case because they won't get paid if they win.

Can’t she pay for my hospital bills? What if I need surgery? She should have stayed home but no she kept coming to work downplaying her cough saying it was because of the infusion.

You can sue the employer for allowing the contagious employee to come to work. Proving they were the one who made you sick would be very difficult, and you'd very likely lose your job.

Other coworkers are surprised how I didn’t get it? They don’t know that I caught whatever she has. We have the same symptoms and like I said I’m the one who’s always replacing her. Her cough is that bad. She still has it plus the ear pain. I no longer have the cough but I have ear pain and both our doctors told us the same thing. That we have fluid in our ear.

Can get infection from anywhere. And second shouldn't be happy fit and healthy again. You should have income protection if you are that hungry for money

You can sue her, but you'll (deservedly) lose. If you want to avoid ever getting sick, you should stay at home and hide under your bed.
