Why do people rag on factory jobs for being repetitive when all jobs are repetitive?

They are repetitive in a different sense. I've done factory and warehouse work in 16 hour shifts. The monotony of that work is way worse than when I was in sales. In a warehouse I was told where and when to go for anything. In sales I self managed and did what I wanted when I wanted.

There’s definitely varying degrees of mundane. I’ve worked some truly dull, repetitive jobs and I’ve had some genuinely exciting jobs and there’s a huge difference for sure
