Why are the French in the South of France so clueless compared to othr Europeans especially the English/Brits who are intuitive?

I live in a small town in the South of France called Ste Cecile les vignes and recently went on vacation to Barnsley in Yorkshire in the UK and I noticed many differences

1/ I went to the A&E in Barnsley in England and I noticed the British nurses ( be it Pakistani or English nurses) were more professional, qualified, competent, intelligent and smarter than French nurses here in the South of France whether it's the nurses at the hospitals at Aubagne or Orange

I had a reaction after donating blood and I had symptoms, they did an ECG 3 times ( once in the ambulance, the 2nd when I arrived at the hospital on the 1st floor and at 3rd time on the groundfloor), they did lots of tests and scans and all this within an hour or two. In france they never do this, they're so clueless that you have to tell them what to do!

2/ English/British Doctors and Psychiatrists in England are more qualified, more intuitive, more competent than French Doctors here in France.

One example is when I registered after arriving to England at my local GP, she gave me a tapering down schedule plan on switching from Mirtazapine to Paroxetine and strict and clear instructions on how do so: 45mg of mirtazapine for the 1st week, 30mg for the 2nd week and 15mg for the 3rd week then stop mirtazapine and wait 72 hours ( due to Mirtazapine's half life) and then start taking 1 pill of Paroxetine.

She also was attentive and answered any question I had

Here in the South of France, the doctors don't care and lack consideration, the consultaions are expeditive and are more interested in money and getting as many patients, they ask for your "carte vitale" and the appointments last 10-15 minutes

3/ Car mechanics in the UK are genuine, more qualified, more competent and do car repairs at a fair price

In France, they do unecessary repairs and car repairs are overpriced. You can't trust French car mechanics, some even damage your car on purpose or out of carelessness

I went to Nissan here in France an they said it would cost just to change “1 cardan, les rotules de direction and a wheel alignement”

In the UK, in Sheffield to be specific, a car mechanic did all that + looked for leaks, checked tire pressure, changed shock absorbers plus all the above: changed a cardan, did wheel alignement and the rotules de direction, all that for just £200!

4/ My laptop had a lot of problems. It had viruses, trojans, malware, the screen would freeze, it would get blocked on a page especially when I opened more than 1 tab open

The PC repair guy in Bradford in the UK repaired all that, saved all my data, installed the newest version of windows, made my laptop faster so now my laptop is as fast as it was when I first bought it and I can open a double dozen of tabs and my laptop doesn't get blocked anymore and the screen doesn't freeeze anymore. He repaired all that for only £80 and within 1 day!

In France a PC repair guy charged me 180€ just to remove viruses from my laptop when it had viruses yet he didn’tt even manage to repair it as the viruses were still present on my laptop and it took him several days to do this

I’m speaking from experience of living in the south of france vs living in the UK, of course maybe what I said doesn't apply to car mechanics, ddoctors, nurses in other parts of France such as the Northern part of France for example : Paris, maybe they’re better than here in the South of France

Also what I prefer about the UK compared to France is that the Brits are more efficient and fast whether it’s when ordering stuff online you can get same day delivery ( in France it takes longer)

Opening a bank account in England is quite rapid and straightforward and so is registrating at the jobcentre which both caan be done online ( In Francce it takes longer and they ask for so much paperwork)

Dude, I totally know what you mean. The French can be so laid back it's like they don't wanna help sometimes. But I got a few thoughts on why things might be different:

1. Bureaucracy - France has way more rules and paperwork. That probably makes everything move slower, you know?

2. Culture - The UK is more fast-paced. Folks in the South of France wanna relax more. Nothing wrong with that, but maybe not as efficient.

3. Training - Doctors and nurses gotta do way more school in the UK. Their programs are probably tougher so they pick up skills faster.

4. Money - Doctors can see more patients per hour in the UK and get paid the same. Might motivate them to work quicker.

5. Reputation - The NHS is known worldwide. French healthcare doesn't have that, so maybe they try less hard, you feel?

6. Location - Your town is small. Bigger cities in France would have more options and specialists for sure.

So like, I wouldn't say the French are clueless exactly. Just more chill, you know? But I get why you'd want faster service sometimes. Maybe look at private doctors if you need someone super on the ball. Keep searching, bro, you'll find people you vibe with!
