Should I take a job I would potentially hate?

So I recently got a job at Amazon I start training tomorrow at 7am I went in for the first day last week and it was a lot. Not to mention I’ve heard some horror stories about the working conditions and treatment basically everywhere about working there the pay is pretty decent though at 22$ an hour compared to 17$ at my current job. Now I also applied at Mercedes Benz and went in for an interview last week hadn’t heard back so I called they lady I interviewed with and she said she’d have her manger reach out to me cause she was supposed to already. The positions I applied for is paying about the same as my job now but I applied for the long term potential I could make a lot of money if I move up at a place like that plus I feel like it would just look good in future resumes when I orally somewhere. But the Mercedes people haven’t called me back yet so I’ll have to wait on that call the next few days if at all should I wait out the call or just go with Amazon? The pay is more and it’s be good money for right now but it’s also be a job I hate with not the best working conditions and in terms of promotions I don't know if there are any? I feel like it’s good short term but it the best long term.

Unless I missed it, you haven't said if you're currently employed or not.

A job in the hand is worth two in the bush.

In my opinion, the choice would depend first upon your needs.
The "wants" can come later.
As far as I know, Amazon doesn't shackle you when you walk through their doors.

In other words, do you NEED a job?

If I were you, from what you've said, I'd work at the Amazon job and continue to pursue other, more satisfactory employment.

That's up to you, I can't answer that for you.

I tolerated my choice of career before I retired.
It was satisfying enough in terms of it usually being interesting to me, but it also was physically difficult.
That part got tougher to deal with as I aged.

Ahh okay that first line clears up a lot because a lot of people kept saying similar things as if I’m unemployed currently. That’s on me and sorry but I actually do have a job currently. I don't know if that would change the context of the answer you gave much but I’m not without a job I really just wanted to know if one would be more worth waiting for or if I should just take the other immediately

I looked back again at your question and see that you're currently employed at $17/hour and are considering $22 at Amazon.
I missed it on my first read-through.

That's a relatively decent salary increase, but if you tolerate your current job and know that you'd hate Amazon, I think that I'd stay in my present job and continue to look for a better situation.

It sucks to go to a job that you hate.

Well the thing is the question was to see if I should go with the other option my current job is paying 17$ an hour but when I wrote the post I had interviewed at a car dealership Mercedes Benz to be exact and was waiting on a call back but I also had gotten the job at Amazon so i essentially have three job options. Amazon is paying the highest of the three but I’ve heard really bad things about working for them. My current job is typical retail so I thought Mercedes would be the best of the three. And was wondering if people thought I should wait for a call back from Mercedes Benz or just go with Amazon oh and for reference the Mercedes job is paying the same as my current job 17$.

The Mercedes job wouldn’t give a much of a pay increase if at all mostly because I’d just be working the front desk but I figure three big benefits come with working there. One it’s sorta away from retail at least typical retail so I wouldn’t be dealing with annoying customers and the hassles that come with retail especially working for Mercedes Benz you’ll deal with higher status people even just working front desk. Two of I don’t move up it’ll still look good on my resume even if I just worked as a receptionist. And three if I do move up I could make a lot of money I’d be a car salesman and they make pretty reasonable livings as far as I know even better working for a company like Mercedes I’d think.

While things at Mercedes sounds all dandy and rainbows I give all the this context to say should I go with that job for the potential long term benefits there’s no guarantee I’ll move up and if that’s the case I’m still not making more than my current job the pay ay Mercedes is 17-18$ an hour at max I’d only be making a dollar more. But I am I’m desparte need of a car as well and they did say they’d do there best to help there employees get a vehicle nothing like a Mercedes that’s expensive but a car if possible.

Or should I go with the higher paying job but a job I’ll hate I’ll be making more money off the bat and I’m sure I’ll get potential raises here and there and 22h-23$ (depending on how you do per shift they give you an extra dollar ) at Amazon would really be good money for right now but a big chunk of my paychecks would be going to Ubers and Amazon had a bad rep job would be much harder and apparently really tough on you if you aren’t in shape.

My dad always told me it is easier to get a job if you already have one.

Other than not liking it it is money coming in until you find something better.

When I was young I had a lot of jobs I knew I was not going to retire from, but it was a job.

I know they promote from within, and it might be possible to move to a position you will like better, but for now it is a paycheck.
If you hate it, keep it until you find something better, and be a sport give them 2 weeks notice.
You might not hate it all that much.
I took a lot of jobs that I knew I wouldn't retire from.
That is normal, but I showed up for work and I got paid. The money feels damn good in your pocket.

I think some off you are misunderstanding I still have a job but I have two options working at Mercedes or the Amazon job when I wrote the post I hadn’t heard back from Mercedes yet and I was supposed to start at Amazon so I wanted to know if I should just wait out hearing from Mercedes or take the shitty job with the better pay but far less opportunity and well from what I’ve heard worse treatment to and accommodations to there employees then either the Mercedes job or the job I’m at currently

I think it all comes down to how desperate you are to get a job. A job you would potentially hate would only be worth taking if it gave you other benefits like economic stability. But the truth is that you'd end up feeling resentment in the long run because you'd feel like you're being disappointed or cheated on by yourself or you'd feel like you're not doing what you were meant to be doing.

I work in a law firm and it was going great. I have an awful part of my job which I'm doing daily and hate it.

I looking for a new job also but have to stay here till something else comes up.

I've heard not so great stories about Amazon too.

Stay in your current job and wait till you hear about the other one.
