How do you handle major changes in your life?

I have changed jobs a few times, Had to change careers when I was almost 40 and had people close to me die. I always just put my head down and do what had to be done. Now that I am older i find it hard to deal with it.

Every event is a potential learning experience, whether it be good or bad. When major changes happen in my life, I look back, briefly, at how I got here, and look forward to what's going to happen in the future.

I was laid off after working many years for a company. I took a week or do to think about how th as t happened, realized it was nothing I had done... it was a simple business downsizing that affected me and several others. It took about a month to find a similar job in my industry, actually with a competing company, where I learned new things about business, engineering and my industry. A few years later, I returned to my original company. In hindsight, bring laid off and learning new things was the best thing that could have happened.

It's not easy to deal with changes. It's very very stressful. I'm going through a change right now with my wife being away for so long. Im Trying to keep up with my normal stuff around the house, work , the things she used to do and visit her every day bringing food.

I had to learn the hard way… it was very very very hard to see my family broken and marriage failed. It was a time I was told to take meds. I refused.
I had to learn to accept reality. I kept telling myself as long as I am alive, I can do anything… these were daily reminders… with that… time and will power is your best friend.

Eventually I learned to let go… that was the best… when we learned to let go and not take anything in the world too personal… my world became brighter.
I also learned to change the way I think… when my dad pasted away… so many asked why I am not sad… it’s because he did well… and is in a better place.
being a positive thinker… is the way to go.

@midnightmoon05 I worked on trying to make things better. Even take something horrible and somehow turn it into something positive. I know irt is hard to do this but it can be done.

I am on the verge of a having a nervous break down. So I don't know how this one will go. But it won't be pretty because I have suppressed shit for way too long.
As for the question, it depends.
There have been times that I have been calm. There have been times that I allowed my rage or any other suppressed emotion to burst. It honestly depends on the situation.
