How can 95% of students fail? Do they all have that student debt but no degree to help pay it off?

Oh. HBCU. Why am I not surprised? I doubt they'll be made to pay it back. Definitely says something though, doesn't it. But actually, as someone who's attended both community college and university, I will tell you that our standards at university are actually pretty low. Any bozo can get a degree. So if you can't get a degree at an American university, there is definitely something wrong with you.
If they're on financial aid that they don't need to pay back, maybe not. It would be a bigger waste if they spent their own money. Or got a degree but no job.
But this does not look good for HBCUs. They probably just wanted to party and get away from and put off working.
But still that's 4 years of not earning.
Maybe earning isn't a priority. Maybe they don't need to earn at the moment.
This seems to be the trend in ALL HBCUs, yet they get praised as being something good
Earning is how you build generational wealth.
Maybe they're earning money under the table
I think a lot of people go to university with no plane, thinking that it will be best for their lives, and get degrees that have little to no real world value. That is a waste. If one goes with a STEM, medicine, or law degree goal then it is worth it. Or even to be a school teacher if you can get employed by a more affluent school district. For example, my local school district starts at about $62,000 for beginning with just a B. A. to up to $148,900 for experienced with a Masters or Ph. D. for elementary school teachers.
Most people seem to be going to trade schools instead of college and getting jobs after they finish school. re-state//background_color_rgba (0, 0, 0, 0), font_color_rgb (77, 77, 77), justifyLeft
It's undeniably challenging to accumulate student debt without completing a degree. College can be valuable, but it isn't the only path to success. Many students face obstacles that prevent completion. Key factors include financial strain, lack of guidance, or misaligned educational paths. Providing support, such as personalized advising and financial planning, can improve outcomes. It's vital to make informed decisions before committing to college to align with career goals and personal circumstances.

This is why college admissions needs to be strict, and not take into consideration race or sex. They're actually harming the races and the sex they give preference to, because it means they lowered the academic bar for them. But they still have to compete in the same environment as everyone else. So higher dropout/failure rates, but no exemptions on the debt. Funny colleges and banks want student loans to be forgiven, but they don't want to be the ones doing the forgiving 🤔
Most colleges today have retention counselors to try and prevent students from flunking out. It is more important what you major in that what college you attended. Majoring in engineering or the life sciences is good. Gender studies, not so much.
college degrees are just fancy papers for dumb people to act like they're smart
these days you don't need a college degree for most jobs. only work experience, skills and the right attitude is needed
I agree with you 100%... My Vet - Who I dearly love, by the way, has a mountain of debt in Student Loans, but SHE has used her degree to her benefit, and MINE as a very able veterinarian
i almost agree. i suppose you could pull a Good Will Hunting? just reading the books and not attending the classes?
Most are just indoctrination factories to make "good" little leftists.
No, but depends a lot on the degree, person, profession, and school
Trade schools are the answer.
Even if Joey DOES pay for it!!
