How do you handle re-negotiation at a job?

So I’ve never had to re-negotiate before with my salary, this month I plan on sitting for my last licensure test which within certain sectors automatically start at 80k minimum. Yes I have the experience to earn that.
Now I know since I’m not within those sectors I know my job is going to fight with me and not going to automatically bump me 10k since I’m at a non-profit …making 70k. I enjoy my job but I want to be paid for the licensures and extra work that I will now be doing with that as I would also be higher than my boss surprisingly who does not have the highest licensure. Licensure matters for billing purposes substantially and They already want me to do certain work as soon as I get it along with taking in the interns program. I was told they may only budge 1-2k max.
