I am just curious. Because I responded to something on an American youtube channel that is factual - would require people to take 5 seconds out of their day & google themselves if they lack the IQ to know it themselves - and the number of moronic, uneducated, failed high school responses I got was just pathetic for a 1st world country.
And this fact can be found day in, day out by the violent responses to minor situations - family shooting each other over disagreements, road rage, etc. - wherein INTELLIGENT people would use rationale and defuse the situation... not shoot at each other like simple minded creatures incapable of thought.
Or issues like welfare - intelligent European countries like Spain make it impossible for you to be born onto welfare & die on welfare, if you don't contribute some working years the government doesn't care about you in any way, shape, or form instead of dragging down society supporting those who contribute little value --- and that's predominantly American borns -- to society.
Or problems like addiction - the response by Americans is akin to dung beetles digging in mud for the intelligence put into a serious issue. Compare to countries like Portugal wherein they had everything in place but stupidity of the braindead variety like mass legalizing drugs.

Well, the 1st, 2nd. and 3rd. world countries classification dates back to WWII when the US (of course) stated that all nations that are with them in the war would be classified as first country while those against them would be in the 2nd. world category and those that are not directly concerned by it such as most African countries would be classified as 3rd. world countries.
That classification has changed a little and people believe that those countries having a certain level of education are 1st. world countries while those uneducated ones are 3rd. world countries. That thinking is totally erroneous because today, nobody ever talks about 2nd. world countries.
In theory, Switzerland and Sweden for example should be 3rd. world countries as per the original definition since they were neutral yet nobody would remotely associate those countries with being a 3rd. world country.
Now, speaking of the US and given the details you give, this country should actually be a 3rd. world country.
It depends on what state they grew up in. Countries like Finland have the same education no matter where you live. It's all the same high quality education.
In the America it depends on the state. Some states teach that the civil war is a states rights vaiolation and other states teach the civil war was about slavary. And it also depends on your district too.
Some schools play PragerU videos telling them they don't need an education and that it is indoctrination. That is why the America has so many high school dropout.
In America the rich don't want people to be educated because then they will be able to understand what tariff is and vote against it. So they want to keep the people dumb by feeding them conspiracies.
The answer is yes. Over half the country can only read at a 7th grade reading level.
