This is what the common human doesn't see. They think IT and programming is all glamour and Ferrari and Bahamas.
Here we are.
Actually, I did make pretty good money as a developer, it is just the job security is not that great. Almost like they use you for the moment then can you. Otherwise, it requires a lot of skill, especially fullstack and fulfilling multiple language and tooling requirements. But then again, engineering is beyond just knowing a language, but especially critical thinking.
I don't think it is as prestigious as a physician or attorney, but it is well-respectable.
Ever consider you are the problem, not the government! What exactly other than you do to stifle your chances after losing a job.
I will say this, ever since Xiden has been in office, finding work in my field has gotten progressively worse. At one point, companies were desperately hiring for software developers.
Best solution is move into your parents house and start freelancing job at home.
I may have to potentially default on my lease, which is going to damage my credit badly. Hopefully, they will not sue me for unpaid rent once I depart. It is sad because I only have 3 months left of my lease.
Fortunately, my mom's house is setup like 2 autonomous apartment spaces. I will be moving into one of those spaces for a while.
Yeah live with mom and be good to her. You should live with her permanently
Why permanently? I have a fiance and expected to be married fall of next year. My fiance agreed to reside with me in that living space at my mom's house, but that is only meant to be for a few years.
You should take care of your mom
Yes, I will always take care of my parents.
Yet you still have a car you can afford and run? :) 🚗 that's something to be proud of - you're not completely poor
Not completely poor but running out of money to pay essential bills.
Bro there's never any shame in getting almost any job aka a fast food, a retail, anything legit
That's exactly what you leftists want. You want to push skilled white collar, middle class workers into low-skill labor jobs, further widening the wealth gap. To you, you don't see this as an issue. What you don't understand is that my bills reflect one making over $70k a year. If I don't make at least that, I may have to default on certain loans and my lease.
No financial advice , we can all adapt to live more with less aka downsizing, saving, budgeting, tis bliss and tis the season 🎄 have a happy holiday season sir. I'm disappointed for those Americans that Joe didn't get a second term and that Harris didn't win against DJT. Sigh. Ah well. Meanwhile, I'm grateful Australia remains Left incumbent
Have a good day stranger 😌
You advocate for downsizing while the leftist elite and leftist politicians get to live their lavish, luxurious lifestyles. Fuck you.
I'm sorry to hear about your situation. It's important to remain proactive and open to new opportunities. Consider updating your resume to reflect your most relevant skills and experiences. Networking, whether through industry events or professional platforms, can also open new doors. Additionally, exploring different industries or roles can expand your prospects. Upskilling in current technologies might provide a competitive edge. Remember, adaptability and persistence are key during challenging times.

its tough out there for sure. I was unemployed for over a year.
@exitseven you deserve iy
I see job postings. Possibly a skill alignment issue? Work for consulting co that will train and deploy you.
i mean let's face it: a job lost in it isn't bidens or any presidents fault. we have chat gpt. we don't need half of the computer devs anymore.
While AI is a growing threat to tech roles and white-collar jobs, that isn't the primary reason.
Many of the big tech companies (FAANG) overhired during the covid pandemic. Then interest rates increased and big tech had massive layoffs, introducing these candidates back into the job market pool. Thus, it raised the bar and knocked mid level developers out.
Not only that, we still outsource a lot of American tech jobs overseas. Biden, from what I heard, even relaxed requirements for H1B visas.
It takes time for new technologies to be adopted by companies to the point they are confident enough to replace their workforce with AI. I can see it coming here very soon, but there should be some time for tech workers to be of value.
i mean it's weird you wanna blame biden for the corona measures, when trump was the sitting president, when that pandemic happened. like i'm neither for biden nor for trump but i'm just curious how that makes any sense to you. like i'm not a libtard. i do like trump for certain things. and i woul actually prefer a more liberal political landscape but the current dems are just fucking retarded so too bad they're not a valid choice. just wanted to get that out there before you push me into either corner.
I am not blaming for covid measures. I am, however, angry about the job prospects and economical circumstances for middle class people. I am 30 years old, and yet I am still broke and don't own a home. Unskilled, menial labor jobs, while still important in its own way, should not be the only option for skilled people.
yeah i get that. like our generation just isn't gonna own a home. neither is yours or the next ones. there's gonna be world war 3 or a big civil unrest and then like one of the next 4 generations will have that benefit again. i guess we are just fucked by being born in an unfortunate moment in history, where the economy just sucks and global and national politics are fucked.
you know how they say there's a cycle: good people make good times, good times make bad people, bad people make bad times abnd bad times make good people? we're in the bad times and bad people part of the circle xD
Americans actually think trump will fix this.
The penny will soon drop that he is an actor.
Rioting in the streets.
Sometimes you have to take a job outside of your preferred field of employment to pay the bills
Dude, stop fucking around and get your ass to work www.indeed.com/...ion-developer-l-remote-jobs.html
You could always try Only Fans.
Simples...
Can’t hurt to try I guess
Not exactly.
