How much is a salary for a restaurant hostess in Los Angeles? Is it too much or average, taking into a consideration taht Los Angeles is a expensive city or it depends if the restaurant is located in a fancy neighborhood so the salary could be a little higher?

Well if you made $20 an hour that would be around $3,400/mo. before taxes. A one bedroom apartment in one of the less desirable places such as Tarzana or Whittier starts at around $2,500 to $2,700 so that doesn't leave you much for utilities, food, gas, insurance much less clothes or fun or anything else. You would need to make about twice that much to be comfortable.
