Someone talked about this on tiktok, about how incels and their discussions on gender roles in society was ruined by their blatant misogyny because their entire argument falls apart when they’re made to acknowledge the existence of ugly, unpretty women. Their entire argument about the world places women, specifically pretty women, as the root cause for these issues regarding masculinity, the pressure to lose one’s virginity in society, how they feel guilty for never being in a relationship even though there’s nothing morally wrong with that but the pressure comes from women somehow. Their inability to acknowledge that women can be ugly, struggle in the same way they do, but NOT blame men as a whole for these issues just shows they’re shitty people. They bring up a lot of good points critiquing modern society in a way that effects men, women, and queer people that has been and continues to also be acknowledged by queer and feminist theory, but because of their misogyny it creates an incredibly unstable argument that’s easy to pick apart. You can’t be a smart misogynist.
