No way! The price for credit points and courses were not only outrageously hi! But also grew from month to month!

Not as i payd* in technology college, annual tuition divided by months! But each month recalculated with a rate of inflation!

My degree was valuable so paying for it was the right choice but I wish it was cheaper. But really, if I had worked for 2 years at and shop, I would have been able to fully pay my tuition without help from parents. Canadian universities are subsidized and cheaper than American schools which might cost $50,000 a year. Ours are $500 - $1200 per course. So one semester would be $2,000 - $6,000 dollars.

I went to 5 different colleges over the years to get a BS and 2 MS degrees. The time span is so great that it is hard to say but I think that in the 80s even a private college was relatively affordable. The costs have risen 10x since then. My employer paid for a lot of it but my first Masters degree was at a private college and I had to pay for the last few courses and they were very expensive.

I went to an excellent college and at the time it was very reasonably priced and today it is still okay on pricing. I picked a major that was in demand. I lived at my parents and drove to the college each day. I did not go in Spring Break and spend lots of money. I worked as a janitor and also was in the Army National Guard while in school. I left with no debt.

This can still be done today and you can leave without debt or without much debt, your choice.

Computers, so not THAT long ago. I put in a ridiculous birthday so it would be obvious to others that it is t real but I get asked a lot. I am at the end of the boomer generation.
