Are women with children less likely to be promoted at work?

I googled a guy that has worked as a teacher since 2010 and a girl that has worked as a pharmacist since 2016 in the public income declaration website and both make around the same amount of money, and you would expect the pharmacist to make more. I know the female pharmacist has given birth twice since she began her career. Both of these people were at one point, close friends of mine, and both are religious like me.
