Surely I am not the only one. I am now approaching 8 months being unable to secure another job in my industry. I had an interview scheduled recently, just to be canceled by the employer due to hiring freezes at the company. I am growing more hopeless.

Underemployment is when you have a degree or are highly skilled, yet you are stuck working low-end, menial, or entry jobs that are well below your skills or capabilities. Examples being a surgeon having to pick up a job as a convenience store clerk because he cannot get a job in his field. Or a well renound software engineer having to stock shelves at the grocery store. Or a nurse flipping burgers at a fast food joint.

Unemployment is obvious. You just don't have a job, period.

I am employed, but recently multiple people got fired. This is the second round of layoffs in less than a whole year.
They changed my role again and there is a huge possibility that my hours will lessen.
Also the job market has been a fucking nightmare and I am almost certain that it will get even worse.

Oh, I worked in tech. I even worked on some projects for multi-billion dollar companies. I have about 4 years experience with various companies, so that places me in the mid-level tier. Sadly, the tech industry's job market has been disrupted and destroyed. I am trying to figure out what to do next.

Fuck I don't know anymore. Funny, I did apply for X and DOGE. Just anything in my field would be good. Right now I am just riding out on my disability checks. Autistic spectrum unemployment/underemployment rates are 80 percent anyways.
