Should I sue the council and social worker for neglection?

Question

I recently went to see a social worker after waiting five years only cause I contacted the council and they provided me with a social worker but I’ve waiting five years for one if someone needs one they get one right away right? No not me everytime my mum called they’d say “she’s still on a waiting list” well I’m sorry but that’s not good enough they’ve neglected me and lastWednesday when I seen a social worker I had a poor apology and my mum was told “she should have shouted louder” I should NOT have to wait five years for a social worker when everyone else is getting one straight away! I’m thinking about taking them to court to sue their asses for not caring about me and my needs!

I don't understand why you, not your mum was calling them for you because you are a grown adult and the social worker was for you not your mum right?
Why didn't you go down to their office in person and demand to see someone about it?

Plus you didn't say why you need a social worker.

I don't think that you were assertive enough because just sitting there waiting for 5 years to get a social worker isn't doing very much on your part.

You won't be able to sue them just for taking a long time to get you a social worker unless someone was physically harmed because a social could have prevented the harm.

Well I'd make sure that it only included words generally accepted by some authoritative source. The Oxford Old English dictionary is a good source, esp. the unabridged. I'm afraid you will be unable to find the word "neglection" in that or other dictionaries- though I kind of like the word. However, when dealing in any legal matter make sure you edit it carefully. Put it down and re-read it the following day. Seeing words used incorrectly will automatically characterized as one strike against you.

Yes you should do something. Sometimes they only do something when they're forced to. They'll probably look at your case to see if they can avoid the lawsuit and maybe they'll try and make it up to you. I also had to appeal their first decision to get disability they wanted to just give me a very low degree of disability but after I appealed, they folded.

I'm surprised too miss lauren that till this day you didn't find one, i know how much it was hard on you to change your whole life schedule and going out since the last social worker had left!

Ofc you have every right to sue them!

I'm just wondering why others are getting one straight away while you're on hold for years! 🤔

You might try but because it's a civil case with not great prospects it'd be outta pocket like libel I know someone who has just handled one and won but first meeting with the solicitor was 'do you have £100k'
