I may or may not be getting a management promotion at my job (finally)

and my boss had me take this management assessment.

the first half was about my personality which i understand.

the second half were these puzzles.

im struggling to see what the fuck this has to do with managing a chain restaurant lmaooo

I always laugh at the ridiculous methods recruiters come up with to "filter" candidates.

I worked for a fire department that claimed they used the same rigorous testing that military special operations use. I worked with SOCOM as a flight medic, deployed with 160th SOAR several times. The fire department's testing was basically all about how "great" the fire service is. Their physical standards were pathetic in comparison, so was the oral board compared to military boards. They have to keep them low because you can see how many firefighters really let themselves go once they have enough job security.

The IAFF (International Association of Fire Fighters) also fights to keep paramedic from being a degree requirement because firefighters aren't known for being smart and very few fire medics would be able to obtain one (many of them get pushed through with $$$, all they have to do is pass the national registry which isn't difficult). There goes their ability to keep call volume high for funding, around 90% of which are medical calls that don't ever require a fire engine to ever show up but they like causing a scene with flashing lights and sirens.

Recruiters basically try to make their companies seem far more grandiose and "appealing" to young naive recruits by making the recruiting process far more confusing than it has to be. The real money maker is in how well you do in the interviews, just like anywhere else. So long as you have the necessary qualifications for the position of course. The recruits who have no personality and give typical answers tend to get passed on more.

It's very important. It's an assessment of your logic and problem solving experience. Restaurant managers are responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a restaurant. They must train, coordinate, and supervise restaurant employees, maintain inventory for food and equipment, keep track of the restaurant budget, sales and payroll. And ensure the restaurant is compliant with health and safety regulations. I have given such test to restaurant manager, to see if they could just follow simple directions.
