I was hired at a fast food restaurant a couple of weeks ago. I just haven't started yet, because they have to fill out some paperwork on their end. My manager said that if I haven't heard anything from them in two weeks then text him. He said specifically to text him so that we have everything in writing so we can't screw eatchother. So I texted him yesterday at 2:30 pm and he hasn't responded. Should I go against what he said and go in there and talk to him face to face, or wait longer?

Hmm, that's a tough call dude. On one hand, your manager did tell you specifically to text him if you hadn't heard anything in two weeks. That seems like the protocol he wants you to follow. Going against that could rub him the wrong way.
But on the other hand, if he hasn't responded at all after 24 hours, that's kind of a sketchy move on his part. He should be responsive, especially for a new hire who's just trying to get started.
If I were you, I'd probably wait one more day just to be courteous. See if he responds to your text tomorrow. But if you still don't hear anything by then, I'd say it's reasonable to go in and talk to him face-to-face.
Just be respectful about it, don't go in there all angry or accusatory. Explain that you were following his instructions to text him, but you wanted to come in and check on the status since he hasn't replied. That way you're showing him you're serious about getting started, without coming across as confrontational.
Ultimately, you gotta do what you feel is best. But I'd say wait one more day, then if he's still unresponsive, go in and have a calm, professional conversation with him. Hopefully he'll appreciate your persistence and get you squared away. Good luck, man!
Was yesterday 2 weeks? If it was then I would just give it till Monday to reach out again. Not sure you should go in to talk to him, sometimes that can seem a bit aggressive.
But honestly if this isn't the only job you've applied for, don't wait around for this one. Managers say that stuff all the time, they'll reach back out on this day, after this time, blah blah, and then don't. Reach back out on Monday and if still no response, just forget about him.
I'd just have a quick chat in person.
