Does anyone else try to randomly learn about things like science and art?

I don’t mean for school or university but just for your own knowledge.

A few months ago I was learning about the history of art.
Then the history of philosophy.
Then the history of science, knowledge and education.
Then last month improving body language, improving my voice, the way I speak and etiquette.
Then this month cooking, the history of food, cuisine and cooking techniques.

I remember a while ago I tried to learn calculus but it was too hard and I quit.

I like to study art that has a background theory to it, and I like to research this beautiful universe that we live in, such as learning about plants, animals, sea life, insects, astronomy, psychology, etc... Problem oriented studies, used to treat illness or modify diet is less exciting, but still very important, if you want to preserve your life or the life of those in your family.

Often the more you like to find out about things the more knowledgeable you become. If you are interested in history, say, then you would be more likely to be interested in the Renaissance and the art & science from that time. The more context you have the easier it is to fit in new info.
