How do I stop being so nervous for my new job?

I was just hired at a furniture store. I start tomorrow. I'll be delivering furniture to peoples houses. I'll just be interacting with customers a lot and I'm not used to that. My interviewer told me that I'll be putting up with a lot of abuse from customers. He said that I'll be hooking trailers up to u hauls and driving them around. They are gonna train me for all of it, but I'm still freaking out, pretty much because I'm afraid ill make a bug mistake.

As to the abuse from customers, I'd ask your boss what he or she means. Why would their be abuse when you're bringing a customer what they want?

I'd be extremely careful when moving the furniture INTO the person's house. You could dent or nick a piece and you don't want to do that, so MOVE FURNITURE SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY.

If you do a good job, often people will tip you in cash. Don't expect it, but thank people kindly when you get a tip, and also thank them for patronizing your store after you deliver their item.

It's just a job as a furniture delivery guy. Relax. Just take the furniture off the truck and put it where the customer wants. Butter them up and tell them what a nice house they have and what great furniture they picked out and get a nice tip. If you make a mistake and get fired just work someplace else. Every furniture store is desperate for delivery guys.

The employee who will be training you, hopefully will be somewhat of a "mentor". You can get some good advice on how to handle situations. As far as dealing with customers goes, smile a lot. Try to be personable. Show a lot of care about what you are doing and they will usually be respectful towards you.
