Taxes and finance (banking, credit, insurance, etc.), how to get a job, how to handle an emergency, basic human psychology, things like that?

Instead they teach algebra, Earth science, history of the Middle Ages. When's the last time you used any of those in your daily life?

You know what? You don't need to. At least not as much as how to buy (or even rent) a house.

Schools have limited funds and a lot of students do not want to be there so forcing them to show up for the current curriculum is hard enough and if you add to the curriculum, school lasts even longer either by years or by work load or by number of classes and quantity of teachers etc... I think the school should be a training ground for shaping disciplined minds, not a remedial guidance counsellor for somebody who is born with uncooperative or neglectful parents. The government does not have the funding to offer that kind of care to the world, and it would face retaliation if they tried to offer it.
